10th July - Brands Hatch
An E/1/2/3/4 on a great circuit. It was a bit too hard for me and I was dropped on the penultimate lap, but I really enjoyed it.
16th July - Harry Must 10
24'26". Felt OK but not a good time. One of my clip-on bars loosened and swivelled round thru knockholt so I didn't risk using them on the descent. A paramedic vehicle effected a 3-point turn in front of me at the bottom of the descent. and I had to negotiate 4 cars at the turn into Cudham lane. So I lost time, but I would still have been slower than last time out.
18th July - Fowlmead
Felt good and enjoyed the race, got in one break for a bit with Neil Archibald and Rob Jackson but it didn't stay. running the 1/2 and the 3/4 together is a bit of a dogs dinner as each race heavily affects the other. I felt good for the sprint, was in position, and would have def got a place - until the wheel I was following suffered a loud blow-out - I had to brake and the bunch flew by; I picked it up to finish 16th
26th July - Kenardington 3/4
Why did I enter this race? I shoulda done the Masters at Hillingdon... Anyway I suffered a loss of enthusiasm and pulled out halfway thru the race, I couldn't be bothered. I couldn't hold my place on the climbs, and my legs and my mind weren't there. So I did a bit of a Danny Rudd and fucked it off. Have said it before, but I really should only enter flattish circuit races - to me they are a lot more fun and I can be competitive (unless I can drop a whole bunch of kilos - unlikely at my age). Perhaps I've had enough racing for this year, but I think the troubles at work may be more to blame - they're tiring me out generally and I'm not in my best shape.
No stats - can't trust the polar right now.
